Kilchoman Cask strength 2016 (50ml Dram)

This second general release which Kilchoman has done at original cask strength. This edition was matured for over six years in quarter casks and bottled at cask strength (56.9%).
Roughly a quarter the size of a 500 litre butt, the Quarter Casks allow for increased whisky to wood contact within the barrel compared to larger conventional cask types. This increased wood contact creates pronounced caramel and vanilla character in this expression. The combination of these smaller casks and the fruity, peat smoked Kilchoman spirit is remarkable.
